STAUF VPU 155
STAUF VPU 155 S is a solvent-free polyurethane primer designed as a damp proof membrane for cement subfloors with residual moisture up to 3.5 CM%. This economical and universally applicable primer ensures a dust-free surface, ideal for subsequent installations using STAUF polyurethane, SPU, or SMP-based adhesives. Suitable for various subfloors, including mastic asphalt screed, concrete, calcium sulphate floors, wooden planks, wood fibre boards, chipboards, OSB boards, unlaminated gypsum fibre boards, and cement floors.
STAUF VPU 155 S offers excellent coverage, ensuring efficient and cost-effective application.
- As a Primer: For subfloor priming, a single coat is typically sufficient, covering approximately 40-50 m² per 5kg container, depending on the absorbency and condition of the subfloor. This ensures optimal preparation for adhesive application and enhances bond strength.
- As a Damp Proof Membrane (DPM): When used as a moisture barrier, the coverage varies based on the required number of coats:
- 1 coat: Covers up to 40–50 m² per 5kg for moderate residual moisture levels.
- 2 coats: Covers up to 20–25 m² per 5kg, offering enhanced protection for subfloors with higher residual moisture levels (up to 3.5 CM%).
Its versatility and economical coverage make it an ideal choice for various subfloor preparation needs.

EXAMINATION OF SUBFLOOR (STAUF VPU 155 S)
Prior to processing, the subfloor must be checked according to the standard DIN 18356, DIN 18365 or corresponding national standards. The subfloor shall be resistant to pressure and tension, free of cracks, must have sufficient surface strength, be permanently dry, level, clean and free of from contaminants that may prevent adhesion, sinter layers etc. In addition, porosity and grip of surface need to be checked. Also check moisture content and absorption of subfloors as well as temperature, air humidity and subfloor temperature. Calciumsulfate (flow) floors and magnesite floors must be permanently dry, cement floors with residual moisture may receive as damp proof membrane by applying the STAUF primer. The maximum admissible residual moisture for cement floors is 3,5 CM-%.
